Holiday House Insurance
Holiday home insurance provides numerous offerings and advantages, depending on the type of policy taken. Different policies offer different features and benefits to its customers. The first compulsory requirement is of building insurance, which covers the cost of rebuilding the structure if an accident takes place and the building is either damaged or destroyed. Another policy included is of temporary nature known as the house content insurance. It covers the cost of items present in the house from your specified valuables to your socks. It is not compulsory to take a content policy but is a great help in case your building gets destroyed, as you will need to replace the items in the house as well.
BENEFITS
By purchasing a house insurance policy, you insure not just the structure of the house but also the areas attached to it such as your swimming pool, garden fence, your outhouse, but the specific details of what exactly is covered and in what circumstances can be known only by thoroughly going through your contract with the company.
In case of your house content insurance generally the things covered are your furniture, electrical equipments (T.V, Fridge etc), clothing and other personal belongings. It is stated that every thing that you can take with you if you change house is covered in this policy, but like every company has its own offerings you must check on what your insurer is providing you.
VALIDITY
There are clear instructions given as to when and how the policy will prove valid and a claim can be made. Some obvious reasons that you are insured against in case of damage or destruction are:
- In case your house suffers a fire accident
- In case you suffer a burglary or theft
- In case of a natural calamity, such as flood, earthquake etc
- In case of vandalism
- In case of impact through an air vehicle(for example airplanes etc)
These are some common coverage given by companies, however two policies are never the same, make sure you have read all the details when you purchase a house and it’s contents insurance policy.
The best way to know of the best deal available is by comparing the different offers given by the company but you should always know what you will get from a policy in case of a claim, only then can a beneficial policy be decided on. Some companies will compensate by replacing the items lost by new one, while some may just cover the repair expense. Remember the more beneficial the policy, the greater the premium amount.
There are some other types of insurances as well that enhances your holiday home insurance. Public liability insurance covers your legal costs in case you get sued by your holidaymaker in case of any accident.
Accidental insurance covers your contents that may get damaged or destroyed in case you had an accident; however accidental damage by tenants is not covered in this particular insurance policy.
