Our Search Process

  • Definition of Assignment
The search assignment begins with the development of a complete and mutual understanding of the position, duties and requirements. All potential candidates will be measured against these criteria during our screening and evaluation process.
  • Research
computer Research includes all methods of identifying individuals, target industries and direct competitors for approach during the canvassing stage of the search. In addition to our personal network, The Resource Group's executive referral database houses information on tens of thousands of executives throughout the U.S.

Additional sources include our library of standard and specialized business directories, trade and professional publications, trade associations, as well as, customized lists that are in-house or purchased for a specific search.
  • Canvassing
The purpose of canvassing is to develop a pool of potential candidates. Contacts are made by telephone, personal interview, or correspondence. In these conversations, our search consultants briefly describe the nature of the business, the position, and the client specifications. Information sheets are completed on all prospective candidates based on a detailed interview. During this process, we maintain total confidentiality as to the identity of the client. We release only as much information as is necessary to enable our sources to provide an informed referral.
  • Screening and Evaluation
The pool of candidates developed during the canvassing phase is reviewed in depth by the Manager and Senior Consultant. These potential candidates are then narrowed down to two or three based on credentials and experience.
  • Presentation of Candidates to the Client
At this point, we present candidates backgrounds and arrange for the leading candidates to be interviewed with the client company. The candidate or candidates of the client's choice undergo further appraisal in a second interview, if necessary.
  • Reference Checking
In-depth reference checking occurs when the client decides which candidate will be extended the offer. Typically 3 detailed references are provided including one supervisor, one peer and one direct report. Contact information is provided in the event, clients would like further information.
  • Development and Delivery of the Offer
At the client's request, we assist in structuring a compensation package. Clients typically rely on us to deliver the verbal offer. Throughout the entire process, The Resource Group acts as an intermediary to help consummate the final employment arrangements.
